Support for the Mind After the Action Ends

What We Do ...

At After the Action, we provide free, trauma-informed clinical hypnotherapy to military veterans and law enforcement professionals who continue to carry the psychological weight of service long after duty ends.

Our work is grounded in a simple truth:
the mind and nervous system do not automatically stand down when the

action is over.

Service conditions the brain and body for survival. That conditioning saves lives—but when it remains active in civilian life, it can leave individuals stuck in vigilance, exhaustion, and emotional disconnection. Traditional approaches often fail to address this reality because they focus on explanation rather than regulation.

We do something different.

Why We Do it

At After the Action, we provide free, trauma-informed clinical hypnotherapy to military veterans and law enforcement professionals who continue to carry the psychological weight of service long after duty ends.

Our work is grounded in a simple truth:

We do something different.

Clinical Hypnotherapy for Service-Conditioned Minds

Our primary service is clinical hypnotherapy, delivered by trained, trauma-informed clinicians under direct clinical oversight.

This approach allows us to work with the subconscious and nervous system—where survival patterns actually live—rather than relying solely on talk-based processing.

Clinical hypnotherapy helps participants:

- Reduce chronic hyper-arousal and stress responses

- Restore a sense of internal safety and control

- Improve sleep and emotional regulation

- Interrupt conditioned survival loops

- Re-engage with life beyond constant readiness

This work does not erase memory or force disclosure.
It helps the system learn that the danger has passed.

Free, Accessible and Respectful Care

All services provided by After the Action are offered at no cost to eligible participants.

We remove barriers that often prevent veterans and law enforcement professionals from seeking care, including:

- Financial cost

- Insurance limitations

- Long wait times

- Stigma around asking for help

Care is delivered in a respectful, confidential environment that honors service and personal agency.

Trauma-Informed, Clinician-Led Practice

Every session is guided by trauma-informed principles, including:

- Safety

- Choice

- Collaboration

- Trust

- Empowerment

Our clinicians understand the unique conditioning of military and law enforcement service and tailor care accordingly. Participants are never pressured, rushed, or retraumatized.

Individualized Care, Measurable Impact

Each participant receives an individualized course of care based on their needs, goals, and readiness.

While the experience is deeply personal, our work is results-driven. We track outcomes related to stress reduction, sleep quality, emotional regulation, and overall well-being to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.

Why This Matters

Too many who served are told to endure, suppress, or simply adjust.

After the Action exists to offer something different:
a path to healing that respects the reality of service and addresses its lasting impact at the level where it lives.

This is not about fixing people.
It is about helping trained systems return to safety
